TAIPEI, Taiwan, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit will be exhibiting at this year's PV Taiwan 2014 photovoltaic exhibition from October 22nd – 24th in Taipei, Taiwan. Heraeus, featuring their line of metallization pastes for conventional and advanced solar cell designs in Hall 1, Booth A0708.
Heraeus will feature their award winning SOL9620 and SOL9621 Series of front-side metallization pastes. Selected by readers of Solar International, Heraeus won the Solar Industry Awards 2014 within the category PV Enabling Materials. According to Benson Yan, Vice President and Global Sales Manager of the Heraeus Photovoltaics Business Unit, "We were pleased to receive this recognition from our customers. The SOL9620 Series has evolved to be the ideal metallization pastes for ultra-lightly doped emitters [ULDE] applications providing cell efficiency gains up to 0.25% absolute. The unique chemistry of SOL9620 Series also allows for a lower firing peak temperature than standard firing temperatures which is best for PERC applications." Mr. Yan continues to state, "Third party testing has demonstrates that our SOL9621 Series is ideal for ultra-fine line double printing. Compared to single printing, finger lines widths of 36 micron with a height of 18 micron are achievable. Results demonstrated great than a 0.2% absolute efficiency gain relative to single printing.
Heraeus will introduce the SOL203 Series during this year's PV Taiwan Tradeshow. The SOL203 Series are back-side tabbing metallization pastes for c-SI solar cells. Heraeus scientists have optimized the Ag content and glass chemistry of these pastes to provide customers with our best performance-to-cost ratio for back-side applications. Tested against commercially available competitive pastes, the Heraeus SOL203 Series demonstrates 2X higher adhesion with the lower paste usage per cell. The SOL203 Series also maintains its high adhesion across a broad processing and soldering window.
