Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute Brings the Kentucky Derby to the D
DETROIT, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Join the greatest two minutes in sports, at the Kentucky Derby-themed gala "Derby in the D" on Saturday, May 2, a new twist on the Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute's annual fundraiser. The party celebrates the thrill of the race for the 141st "Run for the Roses."
A Churchill Downs ambiance and Kentucky Derby-style attire will greet guests, including big hats and bow ties, seersucker suits and anything plaid. So dress to impress.
The event is being held at Motor City Casino-Hotel in Detroit, from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m., to trot out Henry Ford's latest advances in the treatment of neurological disease.
Expect hoof-pounding excitement straight from the track, with the 2015 Kentucky Derby showing on dirt-in-your-face jumbo screens at the gala.
Guests will enjoy mint juleps and other cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a gourmet seated dinner, raffle, a live auction and prizes for the best hat and best bow tie, as well as live musical entertainment.
Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute is one of the nation's leading centers for neurological diseases. Proceeds from this event help fund research in many disciplines, including neurological diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and brain tumors.
The Hermelin Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford has long been a national leader in research and treatment of advanced brain tumor therapies. The Center sees more than 700 new patients annually.
