PARSIPPANY, N.J., March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Rich Hennion orchestrated another successful Silk City Charity Boxing Event on Monday, February 27, 2012 at The Brownstone House in Paterson, NJ. The event marked the 4th consecutive year that Hennion, a Partner at Parsippany based investments firm Hennion & Walsh, organized the charitable function.

Over the course of four years, the Silk City Charity Boxing Event has raised more than $100,000 for the following charities:
- The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, a Catholic Church founded in 1820 in Paterson
- St. Joseph's Home for Boys
- The Do-Good House, which provides scholarships to deserving students in and around the Greater Paterson area
Over 400 people attended this year's event which featured seven competitive amateur boxing matches and a spectacular sports memorabilia silent auction run by MC Sports Collectibles.
Several noteworthy sports celebrities also attended this year including football greats such as Brandon Jacobs and Otis "OJ" Anderson of the NY Giants, Greg Olsen of the Carolina Panthers and Mike Adams of the Cleveland Browns, boxing legends Chuck "The Bayonne Bleeder" Wepner, former world light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Bobby Czyz and the notorious boxing referee Eddie Cotton. Hennion is looking forward to hosting another fantastic charitable evening in 2013.
