Henkel Launches Social Media Presence on Vehicle Lightweighting
'Lighten Up' blog and Twitter feed focuses on role of adhesives and surface technologies in vehicle lightweighting
DETROIT, April 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Henkel Corporation's automotive group today announced the launch of a social media presence centered on vehicle lightweighting.
'Lighten Up' features key information and resources regarding the essential role adhesives and surface treatments play in enabling vehicle lightweighting, including a blog available at www.henkelna.com/lightenup and a Twitter feed @HenkelAuto_NA.
"Light weight materials like aluminum and composites require different joining and coating methods," said Chuck Evans, senior vice president and general manager, Henkel Corporation's automotive group. "Adhesives are often the only possible option in joining these materials together and new coating options are essential in ensuring corrosion prevention of mixed materials."
Henkel's automotive technologies can account for more than 95 kilograms in mass savings for every vehicle, the environmental equivalent of planting approximately 19 trees.
