The Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves people who suffer from the lack of basic human necessities, such as food, clothing, and shelter. It provides tutoring services for children and substance abuse counseling for adults. It operates an organic urban farm, and sponsors a bakery staffed by men "re- entering" society after suffering bouts of homelessness or incarceration.
"The holidays can be a difficult time for many people in our community," said Chuck Evans, corporate vice president, automotive, Henkel. "Henkel and its employees chose to partner with the Capuchins, and contribute to their mission of serving those in need."
"We are very thankful to receive this generous donation from Henkel Corporation during the holidays," said Br. Jerry Smith, O.F.M. cap, Executive Director of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. "These funds will enable us to provide a hot meal to at least 3,000 people."
