Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC Secures $64 Million Verdict
Trial firm wins lawsuit against VictoryLand
MONTGOMERY, Ala., May 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC is proud to announce a $64 million verdict for its plaintiff Lucky Palace and 15 Macon County charities. A federal jury in Montgomery late Thursday afternoon handed down the verdict against VictoryLand greyhound racing park and its owner Milton McGregor in a civil lawsuit that claimed he conspired with Macon County's sheriff to give the dog track a monopoly on electronic bingo in that county.
The verdict amount represents the lost profits, during the trial a forensic accountant estimated Lucky Palace's lost profits at $61 million.
Two HGD attorneys represented the plaintiffs, Stephen D. Heninger and Gayle Douglas. Heninger said they were "very pleased" with the verdict. "It's a victory for free competition," he said. "The jury obviously didn't like what he (McGregor) had done."
