Help Save the Lives of Cats With Arm & Hammer® Through "Tag a Cat, Save a Life" Initiative
Animal Enthusiast Beth Ostrosky Stern Supports Campaign to Educate about the Importance of Cat ID Tags
PRINCETON, N.J., June 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of ARM & HAMMER® branded cat litter products, is kicking-off the second consecutive year of the "Tag a Cat, Save a Life" initiative to increase awareness and educate cat owners about the importance of tagging cats. Launching today to coincide with the start of "Adopt-a-Cat Month," the pet tag initiative encourages cat owners to tag their cats to prevent them from becoming one of the millions of lost, unidentified cats that end up in shelters each year.
Save the Strays
According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy, less than two percent of lost cats make it home and between 2.5 and 3.5 million cats will end up in shelters each year. To help ensure lost cats return home safely, cat owners have the opportunity to obtain a free personalized pet ID tag via mail with the purchase of any two ARM & HAMMER® Cat Litters including the latest, ARM & HAMMER® Double Duty Clumping Litter. For more information about this offer, visit www.PetTagOffer.com.
"I adopted my two cats, Apple and Walter, from a local animal shelter so I know from firsthand experience that too often cats enter shelters when they're lost and unidentified," said cat owner, model and television host, Beth Ostrosky Stern. "I'm happy to be working with Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of ARM & HAMMER® branded cat litter products, again this year on the 'Tag a Cat, Save a Life' initiative to encourage cat owners to tag their pets. It is critical for owners to understand that tagging both indoor and outdoor cats is important as it increases their chances of being found if they get lost."
ID Tagging Made Easy
Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of ARM & HAMMER® branded cat litter products launched an integrated marketing campaign called "Tag a Cat, Save a Life," that will appear on packages, magazines, online, and handouts delivered to new cat owners at the point of pet adoption.
"We are committed to educating cat owners about the importance of tagging their cats," said David Cohen, vice president of household marketing, Church & Dwight, makers of ARM & HAMMER®. "We are happy to continue the 'Tag a Cat, Save a Life' initiative and support local animal shelters that care for lost cats and work so hard to find loving homes for lost cats."
