Consumers, Celebrities and Chefs Celebrate 100 Years of Turning Meals into Moments

Today, in celebration of its centennial, Hellmann's is bringing together the best people, food and ingredients around the World's Longest Picnic Table just blocks from Richard Hellmann's original deli.

Chef Aaron Sanchez joins Chefs Mario Batali and Tim Love to commemorate Hellmann's 100th birthday at Hudson River Park's Pier 84. The first 500 attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious menu created by Chef Batali, alongside family and new friends, while a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® official makes the record breaking measurement along a picnic table that stretches 320 feet.
Bringing the Best to the Table
To commemorate this event, Chef Aaron Sanchez has created a delicious recipe – chorizo and potato empanadas. The recipe will be featured on www.vivemejor.com throughout Hispanic Heritage Month.

During the celebration, guests will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch including a juicy burger, pasta salad with olives and raisins, Italian style potato salad, grilled corn and a birthday cake for Hellmann's from the famous bakery Magnolia Bakery.1
The World's Longest Picnic Table
The table is constructed from pine wood, weighs approximately 8,000 pounds and is longer than a football field. When the celebration is over, the table will be disassembled and all useable wood will be donated to Build It Green, which will repurpose the wood to be used in future building projects in New York City.
