Heilind Stocking New Hirose DF62 Slim In-Line Connectors
WILMINGTON, Mass., Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Heilind Electronics, the largest distributor of interconnect products in North America, is now stocking the DF62 series of slim in-line connectors from Hirose. Representing the company's newest addition to its wire-to-wire family of connectors, the small and durable DF62 Series is ideal for tighter, more compact spaces and is virtually tangle free. The DF62 Series features a locking structure that gives the user two lock completion indicators, a tactile click and a visual check of the socket lock through the plug slit. Advanced engineering and superior design – specifically, the DF62 Series' smooth contours and a multi-row pin layout that arranges its contacts in a grid pattern – has reduced the diagonal diameter of the connector by 50%. There is no exposed metal on the connector, thus eliminating the possibility of short circuits between the connector and the inside of metal conduits.
Their small size and high durability make these connectors ideally suited for servo amp, LED lighting, portable medical device, motion control and robotic arms and gaming equipment applications.
Featuring box-shaped female contacts that work as a mating guide for male contacts, the DF62 Series of in-line connectors effectively eliminates contact buckling. Despite their small size, the DF62 Series in-line connectors do not sacrifice reliability or integrity. The two-point crimp contact design delivers a reliable connection that is resistant to shock and vibration. Reinforced lances prevent deformation caused by cable pulling and increase connection strength even within the small profile of the connector body. The lance strength of a properly secured connection is rated at 25N per pin.
Additional features of the Hirose DF62 Series of slim in-line connectors include:
- Current rating of up to 3A
- Voltage rating of 250 V AC/DC
- Halogen-free as defined by IEC61249-2-21
- Contact resistance for series is a maximum of 30 mΩ
- Durability guarantee is assured for up to 30 full insertion/withdrawal cycles
- Pin counts are available from 2 through 7-position versions, as well as a 13-position version
- RoHS compliant.
