Heilind Now Stocking Ribbon Cable Wire-to-Board Interconnect System by 3M

WILMINGTON, Mass., Oct. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Heilind Electronics, the largest distributor of interconnect products in North America, has expanded its stock of the 3M™ Shrouded Boardmount Header, .050" x .050", 452 Series.

The new product additions join the line of small but robust .050" (1.27 mm) pitch ribbon cable to PCB interconnects that consist of an IDC-style cable mount socket (451 Series) and a shrouded PCB header (452 Series), available in multiple configurations with a flexible array of options.

The 451 and 452 Series interconnect products from 3M deliver on performance, reliability and cost savings. The ribbon cable wiremount socket assembly incorporates 3M insulation displacement contact (IDC) technology in the connector, helping maintain secure connections and high signal integrity. The IDC connector's mass termination capability allows the termination of 30 lines in a single cycle, reducing the need for expensive automated termination equipment and allowing manual cable assembly operations. Available friction latches offer increased protection against accidental disconnect when using a box header and optional strain reliefs provide additional termination protection from users tugging on the cable.
