Heffernan Insurance Brokers receives Top Corporate Philanthropist in the Bay Area award

SAN FRANCISCO, July 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Heffernan Insurance Brokers, one of the largest full-service, independent insurance brokerage firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that it was named a 'Top Corporate Philanthropist' in the Bay Area by the San Francisco Business Times. Heffernan ranked #42 on the list, moving up from #53 the prior year. The awards were announced Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Fairmont in San Francisco.

The Corporate Philanthropy Awards celebrate the Bay Area's most generous corporate citizens and recognizes those companies that also give their time, talent and resources. The annual list recognizes 75 top corporate philanthropists ranked by local cash giving.

Heffernan Foundation, the Charitable Giving Program of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, donated over $630,000 in 2013 to Bay Area-based charities and cash giving per Bay Area employee was $2,218. Companywide cash giving as a percentage of profit was over 10 percent.
