Heavy Equipment Auction Underway, 161 Items Up For Public Bid in Pennsylvania
HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Members of the public who are in the market for heavy equipment or machinery may be able to find what they are looking for among the 161 items up for bid during the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, or PennDOT, Online Heavy Equipment Auction now underway and running through Oct. 9 at 10 a.m.
"In these tougher economic times, the ability to purchase heavy equipment through an auction is an economic benefit," Department of General Services Secretary Sheri Phillips said. "This is an excellent opportunity for any member of the public to find a quality piece of heavy equipment that fits their needs for a good price."
Among the 161 items up for bid are snow plow trucks and snow plows, anti-icing trucks, motor graders, excavators, wheel and backhoe loaders, asphalt equipment, single-, tandem- and tri-axle dump trucks, spreaders, skid steers, generators and more.
All proceeds from the auction go to PennDOT to purchase replacement equipment.
Interested bidders can get started at www.asset-auctions.com. Once there, type "47434A - PennDOT" to view the entire listing or items by category, highlighted units and the terms of the auction. In order to bid on all property currently available, you must register with Asset Auctions. You registration will also put you on the list to receive notices of up-coming bid sales.
The Pennsylvania Department of General Services' State Surplus Property Program is responsible for coordinating the heavy equipment and right of way auctions for PennDOT, as well as general merchandise and special auctions which are conducted monthly online at www.asset-auctions.com and can be found under the "Government Auctions" tab, and by clicking the "State of Pennsylvania" link.
