Heather Wilson Joins Ogilvy PR as Corporate Group Director
Media Strategist and Crisis Communications Expert to Lead Chicago's Growing Corporate Practice
CHICAGO, Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, has appointed Heather Wilson executive vice president and director of the agency's Chicago Corporate Group. Wilson joins Ogilvy PR on September 17 and will report to Managing Director Nathan Friedman.
With more than 18 years of corporate affairs experience, Wilson will apply her background in brand positioning, financial communication, litigation support, crisis management, government relations and media strategy to solving complex issues facing multinational corporations and crafting integrated campaigns that deliver business results. Focused on the Chicago market, she will be directly involved in shaping strategy and executing programs for clients as well as overseeing management of the corporate group and leading business development initiatives.

Wilson spent the past six years at Weber Shandwick where she ran the West Coast corporate and crisis management practice based out of Los Angeles. She was also the global lead for the agency's digital crisis management and brand defense team. During her tenure at Weber Shandwick, Wilson crafted strategic communications programs, developed corporate and executive positioning as well as counseled executives through financial situations, labor issues, crisis and high-profile litigation situations. She was also one of the agency's key media trainers. She has experience across the food & beverage, consumer products, technology and airline sectors.
Before embarking on her agency career, she was a financial journalist, most recently with Dow Jones MarketWatch.

Wilson received her master's of arts in journalism from the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and her bachelor of arts in political science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
