Heather Smith To Lead Sagent Advisors' Private Financing Solutions Team

NEW YORK, Feb. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sagent Advisors, LLC, an independent investment banking firm, announced today that Heather L. Smith has joined the firm as a Managing Director and will lead the firm's Private Financing Solutions practice.  Ms. Smith will be based in the firm's New York headquarters.

Ms. Smith joins Sagent with over 18 years of experience in the equity and debt private placement industry, having raised approximately $11 billion in capital for companies in the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.  Most recently, she was a Partner and the Head of Private Placements at Greentech Capital Advisors, where she raised capital for companies in the sustainable infrastructure sector, including a $1.25 billion equity and project financing for GreatPoint Energy and a €463 million recapitalization and growth financing for agri.capital.

Before her tenure at Greentech Capital Advisors, Ms. Smith was the Head of the Structured Private Placement Group at Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. raising significant equity and mezzanine capital for private companies, utilizing highly complex, customized financing structures.  Prior to that, she was a Director and Chief Operating Officer for Credit Suisse Securities' Private Placement Group and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette.

Ms. Smith received her Master of Business Administration degree in Finance, International Studies and Marketing from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Economics from Harvard University.
