Hearts of Gold Announces 5th Annual "Walk For Kids" Event Supporting NYC's Homeless Moms & Kids To Be Held May 30, 2015 in Riverside Park
NEW YORK, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hearts of Gold (http://www.heartsofgold.org), a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to "reimagine the future of homeless mothers and their children, together," will hold its fifth annual "Walk for Kids" Fundraiser in New York City's Riverside Park on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the park's 83rd Street entrance. Following a performance of the National Anthem by Rhonda Ross as well as the raising of the Start Tape by Blue Bloods actress Amy Carlson, fundraisers and celebrity guests, along with moms and kids from the shelters the organization supports, will walk along a two-mile path through the park. At the finish line, participants will celebrate with games, prizes and refreshments. Proceeds fund Hearts of Gold's children's programs at the organization's adopted shelters, which include providing school supplies and back to school uniforms, after-school activities, tutoring, meals, day trips to cultural attractions and more.
