Heart of a Champion to Offer Unique Ethics Course for Corporate Employees
Classes to be Held at The University of Texas at Dallas
Company has Success Teaching Character and Ethics to Multiple Audiences
DALLAS, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Heart of a Champion Learning is excited to announce the offering of a unique ethics course targeted specifically for workplace professionals. The course focuses on 12 key character and ethics values crucial to personal and corporate growth and success. Classes are being held at The University of Texas at Dallas, School of Management, beginning September 27, 2010, and continue weekly for 12 weeks.
Heart of a Champion was founded in 1997 to provide innovative character development curriculum to America's youth. In light of its success in the academia arena, and due to a spate of recent corporate scandals, the decision was made to extend and adapt the program to the needs of corporations with Heart of a Champion Corporate Learning.
"In today's workplace, few things are certain," says Steve Riach, HOC founder. "Today's professionals are asked to do more with less, perform at unprecedented levels and are required to have integrated leadership, business knowledge and interpersonal skills, all while economic conditions are unstable, people are losing their jobs, and morale issues are spread throughout the corporate enterprise."
To help professionals meet these increasing demands, and still thrive and advance their careers, Heart of a Champion focuses course curriculum on 12 core character and ethics values: Commitment, Leadership, Teamwork, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Self-Control, Compassion, Excellence, Innovation and Trust.
The courses are being held at The University of Texas at Dallas, School of Management, Monday nights from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Certified Heart of a Champion instructors will provide dynamic training through innovative curriculum and video modules, developed by an award-winning creative team.
Since 2008, the Heart of a Champion Learning ethics program has been taught with great success to Fortune 500 companies as well as medium-sized businesses and nonprofits. The results have demonstrated significant attitudinal and behavioral change in participating individuals, as well as profound bottom-line performance enhancement. As one recent Heart of a Champion Learning client stated, "The financial impact during the one-quarter period (ROI on this project) was in excess of 15 times the amount of the company's investment, based on the cost of the Heart of a Champion program."
The Heart of a Champion Learning program measures success and ROI through pre- and post-training assessments, conducted by an independent third party evaluator. Corporations have also reported increasing levels of compliance (HIPPA and SEC, for example), decreased turnover and quality control issues, increased production and improved employee engagement.
"What we read in the media about lack of integrity in the corporate world is symptomatic of the character crisis that has spread across our nation and into every workplace," said Riach. "Many companies talk about core values and yet find a lot of behavior from the executives to front-line employees that is not in alignment. This leads to distrust among working relationships, a level of disengagement in the work, leading to problems with absenteeism or turnover, cynicism and lack of commitment to the corporate mission, and real losses in productivity.
"With the implementation of this program, we are seeing immediate and tangible results in addition to the enduring effects of developing employees with stronger character," said Riach. "The effect on an individual, and in turn on their company, is profound."
