HEARST Television Inc. Names New General Sales Manager in Pittsburgh; WTAE Welcomes Chuck Wolfertz
PITTSBURGH, March 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles W. Wolfertz, III has been named general sales manager at Hearst Television Inc.-owned WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, the nation's 23rd largest TV market. WTAE President & General Manager Michael J. Hayes made the announcement today. Wolfertz will oversee all sales aspects of the station including WTAE-TV, WTAE.com, and the 24 hour movie channel thisTV Pittsburgh.
"Chuck Wolfertz is an accomplished sales executive who will bring strong leadership, energy, and experience to WTAE in his new role," said Hayes. "He has roots in Pennsylvania and will be a key addition to our quality sales organization at WTAE."
Wolfertz comes to WTAE from Belo-owned WHAS, the ABC affiliate in Louisville, KY, where he served as the director of sales since 2007. He succeeds Robert G. Bee, who left the station at the end of January to become vice president and general manager of Nexstar's WBRE & WYOU in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Prior to his experience in Louisville, Wolfertz was hired as national sales manager at Belo's WFAA, the ABC affiliate in Dallas where he was later promoted to local sales manager. He began his sales career with TeleRep in New York and Philadelphia. In 1999, he was promoted to manage the TeleRep Atlanta office before joining WFAA in 2002.
He graduated from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA, where he twice earned all-American honors as a lacrosse player and served as the team's captain.
