Healthycell® and Founder, Dr. Vincent Giampapa, Partner with Feed A Billion to Help Stop World Hunger
Healthycell® donates one meal for every product sold to feed the world's starving
MONTCLAIR, N.J., May 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthycell®, a health sciences company empowering people to enhance their healthspan and performance by optimizing the "building block" of the body – the cell – announces a partnership with Feed A Billion in a collaborative quest to help end world hunger by providing one billion meals by 2020. The company has pledged to donate one meal for every product sold to feed starving people throughout the world.
Feed a Billion was launched in May 2016 by serial entrepreneur Dr. Ambuj Jain as a way to apply the principles of business and social media to the problem of world hunger in an effective, scalable, and measurable way.
Unlike other philanthropic initiatives, which have the primary goal of awareness, or that struggle to raise sufficient money to make a sizable impact, Feed a Billion is pioneering a new model to leverage existing resources, partnerships, and the power of matching sponsorships to bring the cost of contributed meals down.
"Shockingly, someone on this planet dies every four seconds from starvation," Jain said. "With help from incredible sponsors and partners like Healthycell, we are certain to reach our 1 billion meal goal."
Healthycell's CEO, Douglas Giampapa, explains, "I listened to Dr. Jain speak about world hunger at the Digital Footprint conference and was shocked by the number 450 – statistically the number of people who died of hunger during his 30 minute speech. I knew then we had to help and this partnership was born." Healthycell will donate one meal to Feed A Billion for every product sold and it will also raise awareness with its customer base about world hunger in an effort to secure more donations.
In addition to Healthycell's pledge, its Founder, Dr. Vincent Giampapa, has arranged for his Foundation for Global Human Aging to donate $10,000 to help provide even more meals. Dr. Giampapa explains, "I have witnessed world hunger first-hand in India and in Africa, which has compelled me to support this cause. While Healthycell provides micronutrients for optimal health in adults, these children need basic macronutrients (carbs, proteins, fats) to sustain life and develop into healthy adults."
By partnering with Feed A Billion, Healthycell's charity dollars will be doubled thanks to the generous partnership of world-renowned strategist for success Tony Robbins, who has pledged to monetarily match every meal funded, up to 400,000,000 meals. This means funds from Healthycell and Dr. Giampapa will be automatically doubled.
