Healthy Ones Again "Thinks Pink"
Continues Partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®
LISLE, Ill., Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, Healthy Ones®, the "better-for you" deli and lunchmeat brand, is proud to continue its partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) and the "Think Pink" program. The pink platform is an effort to increase breast cancer awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research. Doing so, Healthy Ones will be dressed in pink this October, through packaging on shelf and signage in the deli, all in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Consumers can look for the pink-themed packaging of Healthy Ones tub lunchmeat and pink-themed signage in the deli across grocery stores nationwide. Healthy Ones will donate five cents per tub of lunchmeat and five cents per pound of deli meat sold during October to the BCRF, up to a maximum donation of $50,000 for all participating products.
'We are once again proud to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation during the month of October," said Elizabeth Di John, Healthy Ones brand manager. "We were thrilled by the retailer support of the Think Pink program and the positive impact it had on our consumers. We want to continue to bring attention to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and help raise money to find a cure."
Healthy Ones and BCRF are also bringing their message to Facebook. Healthy Ones will be launching its Facebook page in October where information regarding BCRF and the "Think Pink" program will be highlighted throughout the month of October. The Healthy Ones Facebook page will feature video clips of breast cancer survivors, news from BCRF and donation information, and will serve as a community for people to share their stories with others.
"This has been a successful and inspiring partnership between Healthy Ones and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation," said Chuck Gitkin, John Morrell Food Group vice president of marketing, innovation and R&D. "We want to continue our awareness-driving efforts this October and we're proud to again make a significant donation in support of finding a cure to end breast cancer.
The partnership with BCRF continues the mission of Healthy Ones to support better health. Every variety of Healthy Ones ham, turkey breast, chicken breast and roast beef are certified "Extra Lean" by the American Heart Association. Healthy Ones, a part of the John Morrell Food Group, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, is sold at the deli, in lunchmeat tubs, zip packs and even as variety packs, in order to make it easy and convenient for everyone to enjoy the delicious lunchmeats. Healthy Ones can be found in the refrigerated lunchmeat and deli section of many chain and local grocery stores across the country.
