Healthstat Partners with Racine Unified School District, Racine County and The City of Racine, Wisconsin to Help Employees and Their Families Get Healthier
CHARLOTTE, N.C. and RACINE, Wis., July 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Racine Coalition, comprising Racine Unified School District, Racine County and the City of Racine, Wis., will open a new employee health and wellness center, operated by Healthstat, Inc. The center will welcome employees, retirees, spouses and children 2+ years old who are on the Racine School District, County and City group medical insurance plans. A grand opening is planned for July 12, 2017.
The employee health and wellness center will provide treatment for minor illnesses and injuries alongside preventive care, chronic condition management and wellness coaching. All services are available at no cost, including lab testing and dispensed medications. Employees can visit without using paid time off for an appointment. The new location replaces two clinics previously available – one for the City and County and one for the School District.
As employees and their families improve their health, taxpayers will save money on healthcare benefit costs. The clinic is staffed by licensed Family Nurse Practitioners who also serve as patient advocates. They will provide direct care as well as coordinating with community-based providers. Healthstat guarantees population health improvements and efficient delivery of high quality care that will result in cost savings to the coalition's insurance programs. Other staff members include a Wellness Coach, Medical Assistants and a Medical Receptionist.
"With clinicians and a wellness coordinator onsite, the Racine coalition is looking for ways to help our employees access resources they didn't have before, especially for chronic disease management and mental health issues. We want to help people take control of their own health, to be the healthiest they can be. It's an investment for us in return, to have employees who are better able to engage in their work. We anticipate improved health outcomes as well as better cost control for our health plan," explained Christina Paul, Benefits Manager for the City of Racine.
Healthstat focuses on patient engagement and lifestyle management strategies that improve health outcomes and enhance quality of life. The clinic will offer appointments with little or no waiting time to see the providers. Appointments allow ample one-to-one time with a caring provider focused on meeting the needs of each individual patient.
Healthstat CEO Crockett Dale said, "Our clients trust Healthstat to practice healthcare as it should be – convenient, effective, life-changing and affordable. We've had tremendous success in municipalities across Wisconsin, and we consider it an honor to provide personalized healthcare to the public servants who in turn care for those in their communities. We are thrilled to be working with a coalition of public entities in Racine whose goals align perfectly with this vision."
Healthstat was selected as the clinic provider for the Racine Coalition through a public bid process. Its emphasis on wellness and its proven success with other municipalities both locally and across the United States were among the determining factors. Healthstat clients benefit from increased employee productivity, decreased absenteeism and lower health care costs.
