HEALTHeCAREERS Network Releases Q3 2013 Healthcare Jobs Snapshot

DENVER, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- HEALTHeCAREERS Network, the only single-source healthcare recruiting solution for providers and job seekers, released its Q3 2013 Healthcare Jobs Snapshot.

Due to recent implementation of the individual insurance mandate portion of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), healthcare and the healthcare industry have remained top of mind for most in Q3 2013. The field is anticipating millions of previously uninsured Americans to flood hospitals, clinics and physician offices once their new insurance plans kick in on January 1, 2014, encouraging hiring managers to list and fill positions quickly.

• In Q3, more than 3,000 employers posted a total of 44,791 available jobs on HEALTHeCAREERS Network, a 4 percent increase over Q2.
• The top 10 states for healthcare jobs in Q3 2013 as illustrated by HEALTHeCAREERS Network employer job postings were, in descending order: Texas, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Colorado, Washington, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
• While physician/surgeon jobs accounted for the greatest percentage of job postings, many other healthcare areas experienced increases in the number of jobs posted to HEALTHeCAREERS.com from Q2 to Q3 2013: dietetics/nutrition, healthcare IT, pharmacy, allied health, nurse practitioner, physician/surgeon, nursing and administration/executive.
