Healthcare Industry Shows Growth For IT, Allied Health Recruiting In Q1 2014

DENVER, June 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a new report of its first quarter recruiting data, HEALTHeCAREERS, the leading healthcare recruitment website, witnessed a 16 percent increase in the total number of jobs posted year-over-year with strong growth among non-physician roles.

Though demand for physicians remains strong, accounting for 44 percent of all jobs posted to HEALTHeCAREERS, other healthcare roles showed considerable growth. Recruiting for information technology (23 percent), allied health (15 percent) and nurse practitioner roles (15 percent) grew substantially.

Highlights:

• Healthcare recruiting increased seven percent over Q4 2013 and 16 percent year-over-year.
• Infection disease/HIV, geriatric and emergency medicine showed the most growth among physician specialty roles.
• Nursing, nurse practitioner and physician assistant jobs accounted for 27 percent of all job openings in Q1 2014.
