Healthcare Industry Leader Joins March of Dimes Board of Trustees
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., March 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- James Corbett, a senior executive with PerkinElmer, a global technology company headquartered in Massachusetts, has been elected to the March of Dimes National Board of Trustees, it was announced today.
March of Dimes trustees, who serve as volunteers with five-year terms, represent the public in governing the organization and advancing its mission. Mr. Corbett joins a distinguished group of more than 30 trustees as the organization celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
Mr. Corbett is a corporate officer of PerkinElmer and senior vice president of the Company's Diagnostics business.

Mr. Corbett joined PerkinElmer in 2007 when the Company acquired ViaCord™, a family cord blood banking business, where Mr. Corbett served as president. He has more than 25 years of healthcare experience and extensive knowledge in developing and implementing strategic plans to drive commercial growth. PerkinElmer has been a corporate sponsor of March of Dimes for more than a decade, supporting the NICU Family Support Program.
Prior to joining ViaCord, Mr. Corbett co-founded CADx Systems, a company focused on the oncology market. Mr. Corbett also held a variety of sales and marketing positions at Abbott Laboratories. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He lives in Winthrop, Massachusetts and has two children, Kathryn and Maggie.
