Health IT Services Group Picks Campus for Software Operations
Medical IT Leader, 45 New Jobs to Move to Historic Campus of American Tobacco
NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Health IT Services Group is opening a nephrology-specific electronic health record (EHR) development office for their flagship program "Acumen nEHR" at American Tobacco Campus. The company is a unit of Fresenius Medical Care, the largest provider of renal services in the world.
Acumen nEHR, which boasts 5,000 daily users in 32 states and provides real-time access for almost 2,000,000 patient records, allows nephrologists and their staff to access patient data via the internet while remaining HIPAA compliant for privacy.
"We looked throughout the country for a market with a rich depth of tech professionals, high quality of life and world class office space," said Dana Hensley, President of HITSG. "The amenities, the look, the feel, the central location all helped us select the American Tobacco campus. We knew this would be a great place to house developers and attract new talent."
HITSG is already occupying space and is actively recruiting IT professionals to fill the 45 new positions in the campus' Fowler Building. The company will use more than 12,000 square feet formerly occupied by GlaxoSmithKline.
"When CBC and Durham planned American Tobacco, we had companies like HITSG in mind," said Michael Goodmon, vice president of real estate for Capitol Broadcasting Company, which owns American Tobacco. "HITSG embodies the spirit of innovation that we crave at American Tobacco Campus. They are developing cutting edge technologies to create products to not only move the ball forward on global needs such as electronic health records, but to also save lives."
HITSG plans to be completely moved in and operational before November 1 so it can continue its expansion and development of Acumen nEHR.
