Health Insurance Deadline is Feb. 15, 2015

PHOENIX, Feb. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The health insurance open enrollment deadline is only days away. More than 174,000 Arizonans have already signed up for coverage protecting themselves and their family's financial and physical well-being.¹  In an effort to help, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) continues doing its part educating Arizonans on benefit and budget options available. BCBSAZ is also providing support by answering thousands of questions while also offering online tools and resources for individuals and families across the state looking for 2015 coverage.

"With the end of the enrollment period quickly approaching, we want to encourage Arizonans to call us direct or meet with a broker to make this important decision," said Jeff Stelnik, senior vice president of BCBSAZ. For Arizonans who are still uninsured, this Feb. 15 deadline is the last chance to enroll in health insurance coverage for the year ahead. This opportunity won't open again until Oct. 15, 2015, unless an individual experiences a qualifying event.

Arizonans without coverage may face a federal tax penalty of up to 2 percent of their taxable household income or $325 per year per adult. BCBSAZ can help individuals find out if they qualify for assistance from the federal government, which could result in monthly premium cost savings.
