DENVER, Oct. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Health eCareers, the healthcare industry's online career hub, is giving its healthcare employers and recruiters a new way to stand out from the competition.
Spotlight allows customers to enhance their online presence with photos and videos, employee testimonials and authenticated reviews, maps, awards and other information that showcases what makes their hospital system or practice unique and appealing to healthcare professionals.
Spotlight launched with three options:
- Custom Design allows employers to customize their profile page with photography, branding and color. View an example of Spotlight Custom Design for Nemours Children's Health Care.
- Great Place to Work® highlights the unique culture, perks and demographics of the organization on infographic-rich review pages. The data focuses on key issues identified by healthcare job seekers and derived from surveys of current employees. The survey is created by the same company that publishes FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies to Work For® list, so it's information candidates know they can trust. - Multimedia Profiles let employers share the best of their organization through high-quality video, photography, maps, reviews and testimonials in an engaging, multi-layer profile. Health eCareers and a production crew travel to each employer to take photos and videos of the location, facilities and staff to create a multi-media snapshot of what makes the organization appealing to potential employees. In addition to the profile on Health eCareers' website, employers can use the assets on their own websites and social media channels, making it an even greater value. "I think candidates want to hear from employees who work at an organization before making a decision to join the company," said Jaime Paulus, Manager of Employment at Vail Valley. "Plus it's always refreshing to hear from your happy employees, which here at Vail is the majority of them. It's what keeps me here!"
Already more than 100 customers have signed up for Spotlight branding products, increasing the value and user experience of Health eCareers for both employers and candidates.
Healthcare job seekers hungry for employer information
Health eCareers began work on Spotlight after talking with both healthcare professionals and employers about the importance of company culture during the hiring process.
"We learned that today's healthcare professionals won't blindly submit an application to a company they haven't researched," said Bryan Bassett, Managing Director at Health eCareers. "The traditional job posting doesn't cut it anymore. In addition to basic data like location, salary and benefits, they want to know what the company culture is like, how the organization gives back and whether employees are happy there. They also want visual content to see if they can picture themselves in the environment."
Health eCareers site research backed up the anecdotal evidence, showing that job seekers often left job posting pages to seek out additional employer information on company websites, review sites and social media.
"With Spotlight, we keep candidates on site through the entire experience," Bassett said. "They can find out everything they want to know about that company and apply on the same page."
Branding poses challenge to healthcare employers
Recruiters and hiring managers agree that branding is vital to acquire the best healthcare talent. In Health eCareers' 2015 Healthcare Recruiting Trends Survey, 79 percent of employers surveyed said that their brand and culture are a primary focus in their organizations.
But until now, conveying that culture to potential candidates has been a struggle for organizations with minimal marketing budgets and a lot on their plates.
"That's why we made Spotlight as turnkey for employers as possible," Bassett said. "They don't need to be expert photographers or website designers. We bring all that to the table, then deliver them candidates who are a great fit for their organization."
