Health Diagnostic Laboratory Inc. Sponsors Lecture Series in West Palm Beach, Florida
RICHMOND, Va., June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A Continuing Medical Education (CME) workshop, Beating Cardiovascular Disease: Understanding the meaning and value of key risk factors, will be hosted at the Chesterfield Hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida, on July 9, 2011 from 8:30am to 1pm.
"Beating Cardiovascular Disease, a free course with four Continuing Medical Education credits, is designed to help doctors eradicate this disease in their practice based upon new and future developments in advanced testing," said Dr. Sam Fillingane, who will lead the course.
This interactive, four-hour session is a free Continuing Medical Education course with four CME credits available by AAFP. Specific clinical cases will be profiled that will demonstrate evaluation and treatment regimens of specific types of cardiovascular patients commonly seen in primary care practices. Ischemic heart disease, strokes, and cardiomyopathy patients will be discussed, along with how each case progressed with the help of advanced cardiovascular data assistance. Clinicians will discuss as a group how they would treat example cases, with emphasis on biomarker identification and resulting clinical implications.
The lecture series aims to educate clinicians on the meaning and value of key risk factors directly related to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, clinical strategies that will help make use of cardiovascular marker information, and the cardiovascular diagnostic tools that are available. Dr. Fillingane will also share practical clinical advice on improving cardiovascular outcomes of patients at risk using methods of evaluation to minimize the possibility of patients "slipping through the cracks." Interested physicians should RSVP to 1-877-443-5227 by July 5.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of people in the United States, killing more people than the next four causes of death combined. Beating Cardiovascular Disease: Understanding the meaning and value of key risk factors is an ongoing series of workshops designed to change this statistic. In addition to the CME course in West Palm Beach on July 9, training for family practitioners and other medical leaders will be offered in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville, Atlanta, Richmond, Idaho Falls and more throughout the summer of 2011.
