OTTAWA, July 31, 2014 /CNW/ - Health Canada today released the July 2014 issue of the Canadian Adverse Reaction Newsletter (CARN).
This issue includes an article on the anti-cancer drug cisplatin and the risk of blockage of the aorta, the body's main artery.
It also includes an article on hydroxychloroquine, a drug used for rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and malaria, and the risk of developing low blood sugar; and a case presentation on a suspected interaction between efavirenz, an HIV drug, and ginkgo biloba, a natural health product.
The edition also contains a quarterly summary of health professional and consumer advisories.
