Headsprout Early Reading will get your students to mid-2nd grade level reading skills, or we give your money back," states Dr. Joe Layng, Cofounder and Chief Scientist. The Memphis City Schools implementation involves 8,718 First Grade students in more than 500 classrooms across 112 Memphis elementary schools.
Kriner Cash, Ed.D., Superintendent of Memphis City Schools reasons "Headsprout Early Reading is a web based reading program that has been highly successful in raising the levels of reading performance for young children. This program will be used as a companion piece to the core basal instruction for students in first grade and Kindergarten or as an intervention for older students for the 2010-11 school year. All Title I elementary schools are participating in the site license."
With a track record of proven reading results success in school districts across the country, the Headsprout Early Reading program dramatically improves phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, all vital to a reader's success. Headsprout Early Reading offers a unique adaptive experience for each learner because its patented Sprout Learning Technology immediately adjusts to each student's reading strengths and weaknesses. As the child proceeds through the lessons, the technology adapts to his/her individual performance, ensuring success for every student.
