Headline News and Cox Host Free Youth 'Digital Fingerprinting' at Pembroke Mall on July 10
Event held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
CHESAPEAKE, Va., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Headline News (HLN) and Cox Communications are partnering to host "Digital Fingerprinting for Kids." This event will be held on Saturday, July 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Cox Solutions Kiosk in Pembroke Mall near the Food Court area. The mall is located at 4554 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach.
At this event, each family will receive an 8 x 10 photo printout, their child's fingerprints as well as other information about their child. (After this information is shared with parents or guardians, it is deleted from the system. No information is kept on file.) The parents of the first 300 kids who participate on Saturday also will receive a free DNA kit, a safety whistle and a co-branded drawstring bag.
In addition to the digital fingerprinting, Cox will also provide Internet safety tips for families through its "Take Charge!" program. There will also be a special appearance by the Cox mascot, McGruff the Crime Dog from Virginia Beach Police Department and Bucket the Safety Clown from the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

Since the initiation of the HLN Digital Fingerprinting program in 2002, several thousand children across America have been fingerprinted.
