TORONTO, Feb. 24, 2015 /CNW/ - CTV and The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced today that Jacob Hoggard, lead singer of the JUNO Award-winning band Hedley, is set to host THE 2015 JUNO AWARDS broadcast on CTV and CTV GO from Hamilton's FirstOntario Centre on Sunday, March 15, live at 7 p.m. (8 p.m. AT) (check local listings to confirm broadcast times). Pulling double-duty as host and performer, Hoggard – also nominated for three JUNO Awards this year – brings his explosive energy and no-holds-barred attitude to the stage for Canada's biggest night in music, proving that he really can do 'anything.'

Arguably one of Canada's most vibrant, gifted, and successful musicians, Vancouver's Jacob Hoggard continues to break new ground on all fronts. In 2004, Hoggard, then an unknown local musician, left his construction job and jumped into the Canadian entertainment world on what was then the nation's biggest television program, CTV's CANADIAN IDOL. There, Hoggard captured the hearts of millions of television fans. Later that year, he formed a new band, Hedley, with local B.C. musicians and friends, Dave Rosin, Chris Crippin, and Tommy MacDonald. In 2005, Hedley signed their first major record deal with Universal Music Canada and released their self-titled debut album, which has since sold more than 200,000 copies. Since then, Hoggard and the band have equaled this with their next four albums, Famous Last Words (2007), The Show Must Go (2009), Storms (2012), and Wild Life (2014), launching them into the "Million Albums Sold" club that only a select few Canadian artists have achieved.

Hedley has won two JUNO Awards for "Pop Album of the Year" (Storms), and "Video of the Year" (Perfect), and is nominated for three 2015 JUNO Awards including "JUNO Fan Choice Award*", "Single of the Year", and "Album of the Year*".
