MFC will kick off its 2011 season in style as home grown talents Ryan "Big Deal" Jimmo (13-1) meets Dwayne "D-Bomb" Lewis (13-6) for the vacant MFC Light Heavyweight Title. Jimmo has reeled off 13 straight wins since losing his pro debut in 2007, including wins over Wilson Gouveia and Marvin Eastman. Lewis has won nine of his last ten fights with eight by way of stoppage, seven of those eight in the first round.
In the co-main event of the evening veteran Drew Fickett (40-13) meets Matt Veach (15-2) who is taking the fight on short notice after an injury forced Antonio McKee to withdrawal from the fight.
Also on the LIVE broadcast: Richie Whitson (10-1) vs. Curtis Demarce (10-7), Tyrone Glover (5-0) vs. Robert Washington (9-1), Thomas Denny (27-18) vs. Sheldon Westcott (4-1), and Emanuel Newton (13-6-1) vs. Rodney Wallace (10-3).
The network's Friday night MMA lineup begins at 8:00 p.m. ET with the HDNet premiere of "Countdown to UFC 127." Go inside the training camps of BJ Penn, Jon Fitch, Michael Bisping, and Jorge Rivera as they get set to do battle this Saturday night in Sydney, Australia.
