COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Feb. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HDI, the worldwide professional association and certification body for the technical service and support industry, today announced the official launch of new industry certifications for coaches. Through a partnership with the KCS Academy, professionals in the technical service and support industry can now become certified as Support Coaches.
"Effective coaching is a critical success factor to improving the skills and behavior of support analysts," says Rick Joslin, HDI's executive director of certification and training. "Whether you are adopting new processes, like Knowledge-Centered Support, or improving the quality of your existing services, success depends on education. It is important for organizations to provide coaches with the skills they need to successfully coach others."
"A coach must have the right aptitude and coaching skills in order to help others learn and adapt to change," says Greg Oxton, KCS Academy's president. "Organizations that invest in coaching have continuously demonstrated higher success in transforming their people and processes."
HDI and the KCS Academy worked with Dr. Beth Haggett, Master Personal and Executive Coach, to develop both training and certifications for coaches. "Dr. Haggett provided the expertise and guidance necessary to develop such quality coaching training and certification offerings," says Mr. Joslin. "She is the author of the coaching courseware offered by both HDI and the KCS Academy."
HDI is including the KCS Academy Support Coach certification exam with both the Coaching Skills for Knowledge-Centered Support and Coaching Skills for Quality Support courses. Both are two-day long instructor-led courses and cost $1,695 for both training and certification. These courses help prepare individuals for the certification exam and are not required to take the exam.
