HBO Committed to NOW Viewers Experience Through Extended Partnership with Conviva
HBO Now Leverages Conviva's Experience Management Platform to power their viewer experience strategy
FOSTER CITY, Calif., Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- HBO today announced the next phase of its partnership with video analytics and optimization company Conviva to enhance its stand-alone streaming service, HBO NOW. The deal marks an extension of HBO's current partnership with Conviva, which was first announced in May 2011, to provide video optimization support for its TV Everywhere initiatives including HBO GO and MAX GO.
HBO will extend the deployment of Conviva's intelligent-data and control platform to optimize the viewer experience throughout its internet ecosystem. In so doing, HBO NOW utilizes Conviva's platform to provide in-depth metrics and analytics to understand how content is performing across devices. The data collection Conviva enables will allow HBO to make critical decisions to ensure the best viewing experience for every NOW user.
Using Conviva's platform, HBO is able to monitor elements like picture quality to ensure the very best content experience possible. Conviva also enables the collection of data that will allow for greater and more robust measurement of engagement and content as well as comparative analysis to ensure that HBO NOW and GO deliver the best video viewer experience.
"We create some of the best and most acclaimed original programming in the world and we want the delivery of our services to consumers to continue to elevate our brand," said Diane Tryneski, Chief Digital Officer of HBO. "We recognized the importance of strong, real-time data that Conviva's best-in-class platform and insights was able to garner for HBO GO, so extending this to our NOW service was a natural evolution of our relationship."
"The television model is rapidly changing," said Conviva CEO Hui Zhang. "In today's OTT environment, the quality of experience is now as vital as quality of content. HBO understands the role and importance of experience syndication and are dedicated to provide a consistent, quality of viewing for audiences through Conviva's services."
