HB Announces Asbestos Seminar Featuring Prominent Judges as well as Litigators Rozen and Lanier
BOSTON, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Judges from New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts will round out a diverse faculty of seasoned litigators and trial attorneys—including Michael Rozen of Feinberg Rozen and Mark Lanier of the Lanier Law Firm—at a continuing legal education seminar on Asbestos litigation on March 1, 2012 in Boston, Tom Hagy, HB Litigation Conferences CEO, has announced.
The conference, "Trying an Asbestos Case — How To Get the 'W'" is chaired by Jeffrey King of K&L Gates of Boston and Richard Meadow from the New York office of The Lanier Law Firm.
"This seminar will focus on Asbestos litigation in the Northeast, a traditional hotbed for this mass tort, with special sessions and updates on Asbestos litigation in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and Pennsylvania," said Hagy.
Other topics include: consolidation issues; ethical considerations involved with global settlements; industrial hygiene essentials; appellate issues; and the intersection of litigation and trust claims. It will also feature a mock jury session and will close with a judicial roundtable featuring: Hon. Richard Aulisi, Fulton County Supreme Court, N.Y.; Hon. Victor J. DiNubile, Jr, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas; Hon. Charles Hely, Massachusetts Superior Court; and Hon. Martin Shulman, New York Supreme Court.
"HB is especially excited to feature the presentation by Michael Rozen, who will bring his extensive knowledge of mass tort settlements and related ethical issues to the conference," said Hagy.
Rozen has achieved national prominence as a strategist, negotiator and court-appointed special master, having successfully resolved thousands of complex, multi-party cases.
"We are also very happy to feature a keynote speech by prominent litigator Mark Lanier, who is always lively, entertaining and also highly informative," said Hagy.
Credited with securing one of the largest asbestos verdicts in U.S. history, Keynote Speaker Mark Lanier is recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the United States.
"Although specifically designed for Asbestos attorneys, the program should be of interest to any practicing mass tort attorney," he added.
There are a limited number of free seats set aside for in-house counsel, media and sitting judges. HB is also offering 50% off registrations for teams of outside counsel who register along with their clients.
