HauteLook Makes Key New Hires to Expand Business: Leading Private Sale Site Appoints Arthur Lewis as General Merchandising Manager, Tim Davis as Director of Men's Merchandising, and Vicky Kalish as Director of Food and Wine
LOS ANGELES, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- HauteLook, a leading online private sale website, announced three key hires following the recent completion of $31 million in Series C equity funding in June. Arthur Lewis has joined the company as General Merchandising Manager, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Adam Bernhard. Tim Davis has signed on as Director of Men's Merchandising, and Vicky Kalish has joined as Director of Food and Wine. Both will report to Mr. Lewis.
"Arthur, Tim and Vicky are major assets to HauteLook. Their experience at the highest level of retail will be invaluable as we expand the HauteLook member experience," said Bernhard. "We've had a profitable beginning to 2010, and each of these executives will help us continue that amazing momentum."
Mr. Lewis will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for profitability, team development and sales of women's apparel, men's apparel, accessories, beauty, kids', home, food and wine product categories. Prior to joining HauteLook, Lewis held several leadership roles at Gap Inc. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of Adult Merchandising, Old Navy Division, authoring the turnaround plan for the adult merchandising business.
"HauteLook is the future of retail, both as a preferred resource for shoppers and as a marketing partner to brands," said Lewis. "I'm delighted to join this team at such an exciting time of prosperity and growth."
Mr. Davis will be leading the relaunch of the men's business later this summer, and will be responsible for attracting new men's brands to the site and creating a dynamic assortment of male-focused sale events throughout the year. Davis comes to HauteLook with over 17-years of experience in luxury retailing with Neiman Marcus. His most recent position was Buyer, Men's Designer Collections and Men's Contemporary Sportswear. Prior to that position, he worked as a buyer in a number of departments within the company.
"I'm eager to bring male shoppers a greater variety of offerings and introduce brands to new audiences," said Davis. "I look forward to helping HauteLook become the preferred casual lifestyle destination for men."
Ms. Kalish will be responsible for launching and merchandising the newest category for HauteLook, gourmet food and wine. Kalish cultivated her passion for the gourmet food and wine businesses as a merchant for Williams-Sonoma, where she was responsible for developing the cookbook business, including the award-winning Williams-Sonoma branded cookbooks, which have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. Prior to joining HauteLook, Kalish served as Director of Special Markets for Octopus Publishing Group, and was responsible for creating and selling lifestyle books in the areas of food, wine and home.
"Gourmet food and wine are tremendous growth areas for HauteLook, especially as we move into the holiday season," said Kalish. "I am excited to share the most special food and wine experiences with our members."
In addition to these key hires, HauteLook recently added additional senior talent in Andrea Braun, from Bloomingdale's, and Mary Beth Boyle, from Macy's, who will round out the Women's Ready-to-Wear team in New York and Los Angeles, respectively. They will report to Chris Lepold, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President and will oversee the entire Women's Ready-to-Wear team.
