The candy land themed event was held at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM). Over two hundred guests flocked to the venue to support the models, the hospital, and the clinic. In attendance was Miss Arizona, lauded for her beauty inside and out. A silent auction also took place in which a signed guitar by Train was the main attraction.
The event was engineered by wife of Dave Hastings, Diane Hastings. She put the event on in order to support children suffering from downs syndrome, and bring together families with a downs syndrome child. She has high hopes for the event in the future and had the following words to offer concerning next year's event:
"Buy a ticket and you get to watch the most beautiful people, inside and out, model super cute clothes! Plus, you can shop the amazing auction items, eat a lovely meal and view the musical instrument museum. If you cannot make it this year, please consider making a donation to the clinic. You will be a blessing to so many families in need!" said Diane Hastings, in an interview with Patricia Barney.
No doubt the smiles on the models faces is worth price of admission. It was said that the atmosphere of the event was teeming with comradery and care. Also, the silent auction gave attendees a chance to bid on their next vacation, while simultaneously contributing to a just cause.
In the future, Diane Hastings wants the event to grow and gain support from Arizonans. Her highest hope is that people will everywhere will know, love, and support the downright beautiful fashion show. The generous patroness of the event had these words to offer about her future plans:
"I would like every family who has a child with Down syndrome to automatically think of the clinic when looking for resources to support the needs of their child," said Diana Hastings.
No doubt everyone in the valley is behind Diane in her effort to support children and adults with downs syndrome.
