Harvey Weinstein Headlines Thirty-Eighth Annual UCLA Entertainment Symposium
Legendary Academy Award® Winning Film Producer and Studio Executive to Deliver Keynote Address
LOS ANGELES, Dec.17, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Thirty-Eighth UCLA Entertainment Symposium will welcome several hundred leading entertainment industry executives who will explore and study the latest trends and issues affecting the industry on March 7-8, 2014, at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, Macgowan Hall.
A highlight of this year's symposium will be a dialogue with Academy Award® winning producer and studio executive Harvey Weinstein, co-founder of Miramax Films and The Weinstein Company (TWC). During his and his brother Bob's tenure at Miramax and TWC, they have received 321 Oscar nominations and won 78 Academy Awards. TWC's releases this year include FRUITVALE STATION, LEE DANIELS' THE BUTLER, PHILOMENA, MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM and AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY.
Mr. Weinstein will be interviewed by Ken Ziffren, well known media and entertainment attorney and UCLA School of Law adjunct professor, in front of an audience of industry executives, producers, agents, managers, attorneys and students at UCLA. This one-on-one dialogue allows Mr. Weinstein to present his views on the industry and the future of entertainment.
