Harvard Business School Offers Online HBX CORe Program for Spring and Summer 2015
BOSTON, Jan. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Registration opened on Monday, Jan. 12, for the spring and summer 2015 cohorts of Harvard Business School's new HBX CORe program, a cutting-edge online learning initiative that provides a primer on the fundamentals of business with a suite of three integrated courses: Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. The program, taught by a team of HBS faculty members, is designed specifically for rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors; current and prospective graduates; and those in the first ten years of their careers.
Applications must be received by Feb. 4 for the cohort that begins on Feb. 25, and they are now being accepted as well for cohorts beginning on April 15 and June 3. The CORe online application process takes less than 30 minutes, and admission is based on individual applications that highlight aptitude and motivation. Applicants are encouraged to provide insight as to why they want to participate in the program and what they plan to contribute to the rigorous learning community of which they will be a part. There are no geographic restrictions in the selection process; applicants from around the world are invited to apply, and there are no residency requirements for the entirely online program.
The fee for the February and April cohorts is $1,500, while the cost of the June and subsequent cohorts will be $1,800. Need-based financial aid may be available to U.S. citizens currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Since applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received, applying early may improve the likelihood of being admitted.
HBX CORe was successfully launched last spring. "HBX re-envisions the case method for an online environment and embodies the highly interactive learning that has been a hallmark of the School's educational programs for more than a century," said HBS Dean Nitin Nohria. "It provides a powerful channel for communicating ideas to and engaging with new and wider audiences. We are very excited to be able to offer this program for the first time to students located anywhere around the globe."
