LEBANON, Tenn., Nov. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- With over 135 years of handcrafted quality, Hartmann is proud to introduce its newest innovation, PC4 — a new luggage collection with state-of-the-art high-gloss 100% virgin polycarbonate technology. This high density, streamlined design surpasses the competition by offering four polycarbonate layers with exceptionally high levels of impact resistance. The PC4 collection's organizational advancements provide the best interior features in the hardside category, including 360 degree swivel wheels, useful divided packing compartments, and TSA surface mounted lock. PC4 has signature Hartmann DNA, redefining lightweight travel.
PC4 surpassed all the competition in Hartmann's rigorous testing standards, backed by an industry-leading ten-year warranty. PC4 experienced the most rigorous tumble test in a hexagon drum outfitted with sandpaper, wood, metal and raised edges. It endured 7,000 drops, simulating ten years of harsh wear and tear with incredible results. PC4's top handle completed 30,000 cycles of handle lift testing with no functional impairments and was also weighted and ran for 100 miles on an 80-grit abrasive surface, resulting in minimal material loss to the wheels.
"We are excited to be offering the next generation of travel with our new polycarbonate PC4 collection. Equipped with four layers of engineered performance, this collection is the luggage of choice for strength, durability and mobility, backed with a worry-free ten-year warranty," said Dick Kunkle, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "This collection is crafted utilizing 135 years of Hartmann's world-renowned knowledge and dedication to making high-quality, long-lasting, durable travel pieces. It's the philosophy that sets Hartmann apart from the rest of the industry," added Kunkle.
This three-piece collection includes an international carry-on, a 21˝ and a 27˝ Spinner. Among the additional features included are reinforced corner guards, signature figure-8 top and side carrying handles, and distinctive embossed leather strip to set this collection apart from the crowd.
