Hart Energy's Terrence Higgins Receives NPRA Lifetime Service Award

HOUSTON, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Hart Energy Consulting is proud to announce that Terrence S. Higgins, Executive Director, Global Refining & Special Projects, receives today the Peter G. Andrews Lifetime Service Award at the 2010 National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) Q&A and Technology Forum. The NPRA Q&A and Technology Forum takes place in Baltimore, MD on October 10-13, 2010.  The Peter G. Andrews Lifetime Service Award honors members who have made long lasting contributions to the value and vitality of the NPRA Q&A Meeting.  During their careers, the recipients have demonstrated a willingness to pass on their knowledge and expertise to future generations in this forum.

Terrence S. Higgins holds 40 years of experience in the energy industry.  Higgins joined Hart as Executive Director, Global Refining & Special Projects after 14 years with the NPRA. "It is an honor to be recognized as a contributor to an organization dedicated to the safe,  environmentally responsible and efficient operation of an industry so vital to quality of life throughout the world," he said.  At the NPRA, he served as technical director, responsible for coordination and development of industry policies on refining and fuel quality. In addition, he held positions in private sector energy and environmental consulting (the U.S. Department of Energy, Amerada Hess and Texaco). In all of these capacities, he has been involved in analysis of refining and crude oil and refined products markets. He has extensive experience in the application, design and implementation of refinery modeling systems.  He is the primary contributor to Hart's World Refining and Fuels Service (www.hartwrfs.com) and oversees its annual Global Crude, Refining and Clean Transportation Fuels Outlook, which includes supply & demand forecasts and refining capacity projections to 2030. Higgins holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, U.S.
