Hart Energy Announces New Dates for 2012 DUG Conference in Fort Worth
HOUSTON, Oct. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hart Energy has changed the dates for its 2012 DUG (Developing Unconventional Gas) Conference and Exhibition in Fort Worth.
The new dates for DUG™ the Original are now set for Monday-Wednesday, April 23-25, 2012, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
The decision to shift dates (to one week later than originally scheduled) was not made lightly. Hart Energy elected to avoid the scheduling overlap with the Independent Petroleum Association of America's annual Oil and Gas Investment Symposium (IPAA-OGIS) in New York. The decision was taken in consideration for senior management at publicly held companies, many of whom attend OGIS, but also speak to or attend Hart Energy's DUG conference in Fort Worth.
"While our DUG conferences and exhibitions have grown to be the largest unconventional resource events in the world, we want the focus to remain on top-quality programming in the conference sessions and the high-level attendee audience," said Barry Haest, Hart Energy's director of events. "Both events also draw attendance from the financial community – and that's a key audience for us.
"Clearly, speakers and attendees alike would face a choice between OGIS and DUG," Haest said, "so we looked for a way to ensure both events succeed. This change is another way we can safeguard the quality of our DUG conference."
