Harrison College Offers Career Assessment Resource
Free online tool matches individuals with career fields and positions
INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Harrison College, a private sector college serving more than 4,000 students worldwide, has made available to the public a career assessment tool designed to assist people with identifying professions that match their interests and personalities. The career assessment tool is available free of charge.
Harrison College, which has provided career-focused education since 1902, has seen a rise in the number of adults returning to college during the economic downturn in an effort to improve their prospects in an increasingly competitive job market. The college is offering the career assessment tool to help adults better focus their career objectives and understand how higher education may play a part in helping them reach their career goals.
"Many young adults just out of high school — as well as workers downsized from various industries — are faced with the challenge of determining not only what their best career opportunities are but also aligning these with their interests and passions," said Jason Konesco, president of Harrison College. "This career assessment tool is designed to help these individuals identify their strengths and ambitions, corresponding careers and a path for pursuing those careers."
The career assessment tool is a multiple-choice questionnaire that takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Upon completion, users receive a summary that identifies careers that best fit their interests and personalities, average salaries for those careers and programs of study that can lead to employment in those careers. Not all of the programs of study are offered at Harrison College.
The career assessment tool is available online at harrison.edu/career-focused.
