Grand Opening To Be Held March 14-15
RESTON, Va., March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Offering the most expansive array of resort-style amenities of any rental community in the Washington, DC metropolitan area -- everything from an indoor lap pool to round-the-clock Starbucks coffee -- Harrison at Reston Town Center is now open. Twenty-five percent of its 360 luxury apartments already have been pre-leased, and residents have started moving in.
An exciting grand opening weekend will be held March 14-15, 2015, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Saturday, March 14, featuring Robert E. Simon, Jr., the founder of Reston, and other invited guests. The ribbon-cutting will be followed by a variety of events including culinary and mixology demonstrations by leading area chefs and bartenders, fitness classes, and tours of The Harrison's beautifully decorated model apartments and 28,000 square feet of amenity space.
Throughout the grand opening weekend, The Harrison's leasing staff will provide extensive tours featuring views of the indoor pool, Culinary Center, Health and Fitness Center, Executive Business Center, expansive Gaming and Entertainment Center, three furnished model apartments and visitor guest suite, Rooftop SkyClub with virtual golf, and a spectacular penthouse apartment. Members of the public are invited to register online for the event by visiting www.liveharrisonapts.com.
Located at 1800 Jonathan Way facing Reston Parkway, The Harrison is the latest project of Renaissance Centro, developer of the two other multifamily communities across Reston Parkway from Reston Town Center: Stratford House and Carlton House.
The Harrison is designed to enhance residents' lifestyles in every way. Onsite fitness options rival the most exclusive health clubs with a four-lane indoor lap pool and a 24-hour fitness studio where state-of-the-art equipment includes interactive programs. There's a yoga and pilates room with on-demand televised workouts, a massage room, and a spin studio that combines live classes with Myride®, an immersive customized "fitness adventure." Several live fitness classes per week will be offered to residents at no additional cost.
When residents are ready to relax and socialize, the options are almost endless. The sumptuous residents' lounge beckons with intimate seating, two gas fireplaces, and an outdoor deck. The adjacent Gaming and Entertainment Center has three wide-screen televisions and several video game systems, pool, shuffleboard, chess, and card tables. The Culinary Center has a commercial demonstration kitchen and private dining room that can be reserved for wine-tastings, dinners, and celebrations. Complimentary wi-fi is available throughout the amenity space, and a hospitality bar will provide round-the-clock Starbucks coffee and other beverages. For residents' four-legged friends, The Harrison provides a dog park and pet spa.
During warmer weather, residents can take advantage of The Harrison's rooftop amenities including an outdoor pool and sundeck, SkyClub for gathering and entertaining, grilling station, virtual golf, and fire pit. The roof decks offer sweeping 360-degree views of the area as far as the Blue Ridge Mountains. In fact, virtually all of The Harrison's apartments have excellent views of the heavily wooded surroundings.
But life at The Harrison isn't all play and no work. The community's Executive Business Center offers private offices and workstations, computers and printers, multiple high-tech conference rooms, reception areas, and a second hospitality bar.
To further enhance residents' lives, The Harrison's full-time Lifestyle Coordinator will schedule community events, arrange fitness classes, provide concierge-style services, and more. Using an online portal and mobile app, residents will be able to reserve amenities, pay rent, and request maintenance services.
The Harrison offers spacious one-bedroom/one bath, two-bedroom/two bath, and three-bedroom/three-bath apartment homes, some with dens. These modern dwellings feature generous open floor plans, expansive windows, full or Juliet balconies in most homes, full-size washers and dryers, walk-in closets, oversized bathroom vanities and linen cabinets, and more. Top-floor penthouses feature enhanced finishes and appointments, soaring ceilings, and spectacular views.
Each contemporary gourmet kitchen is distinguished by custom cabinetry, imported stone countertops, ENERGY STAR® stainless steel appliances, ceramic tile accent walls, elegant high-arc faucets, and a large pantry.
The Harrison's brightly lit underground garage has spaces for 440 cars, along with four electric car charging stations and a bike storage area that also features a bike repair station. Just outside the community is a bus stop providing quick access to the newly opened Wiehle Avenue Metro station on Metro's Silver Line. Residents have direct access to Reston's 55-mile trail system and the 45-mile-long W&OD Trail. And just across Reston Parkway is Reston Town Center's concentration of more than 50 retail shops, 30 restaurants, newly renovated multiplex cinema, and open-air pavilion featuring concerts, festivals, ice skating, and other activities throughout the year.
Renaissance Centro's principals, Albert H. Small, Jr. and Douglas Erdman, combine more than five decades of experience developing single- and multi-family housing. Said Mr. Small: "We are excited to deliver The Harrison, our most modern and luxurious multifamily community to date, with an unprecedented level of resort-like amenities. With the new Silver Line Metro service to Reston, residents of The Harrison will not only enjoy all that Reston has to offer, but also will have easy access to downtown Washington and the entire national capital region."
Added Mr. Erdman, who also serves as President of Community Realty Company (CRC) of Greenbelt, MD: "We love all that Reston has to offer, from the iconic Town Center with its multitude of stores to the community's walkability and access to transit. Here at The Harrison, residents are close to employment centers, grocery stores, health care, educational opportunities, the arts, and almost unlimited recreational options."
While residents of The Harrison may never want to leave their community with its extensive array of amenities, they also will enjoy membership in Reston Association, which operates 15 outdoor swimming pools, 55 miles of paved pathways and trails, 52 tennis courts, over 1,350 acres of open space, and programming for people of all ages throughout the year. The nearby Reston Community Center features an indoor swimming pool, classes, activities, and performances at its award-winning Center Stage. Founded as a planned community more than a half-century ago by Robert E. Simon, Jr., Reston has won dozens of awards and its "live-work-play" principles have been emulated throughout the US.
