Harris Corporation Team to Pursue Major Network Transport Services Contract for the U.S. Department of the Navy
WASHINGTON, Jan. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has teamed with other leading technology companies to pursue an anticipated five-year, U.S. Department of the Navy contract to provide network transport services for the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) initiative. NGEN is the latest version of the Department of the Navy's initiative to continuously evolve enterprise networks to provide secure data and services to Navy and Marine Corps personnel.
Harris has teamed with CSC (NYSE: CSC); General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD); and Cisco for the pursuit.
