HarperCollins Children's Books Launches Educational Apps for Kids
NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- HarperCollins Children's Books today announced the launch of its ABC Song App and 123: Ants Go Marching App on the App Store. These apps for iPhone and iPod touch are published by Curious Puppy (http://www.curiouspuppy.com), a program of online educational games and apps for children from HarperCollins Children's Books.
By featuring interactive and fun content, these apps help young children and toddlers get ready for school, and preschool, with entertaining experiences. Each app includes learning games that reinforce color and shape recognition, word association, memorization and a host of other fundamental skills.
"Children interact with technology at increasingly younger ages, and our apps are an easy way for parents to offer kids an interactive and educational experience," said Susan Katz, President and Publisher, HarperCollins Children's Books. "With the launch of these educational apps for kids, we are also launching Curious Puppy, our first e-imprint. Together they show that learning can be fun year-round and mobile applications are a convenient option to keep a child engaged on the go."
The ABC Song App turns learning the ABCs into an alphabet game that will appeal to all ages, with catchy music and irresistible graphics that bring letters to life. Young learners can connect with the alphabet as the app models each letter and the sounds they make in speech and song. The 123: Ants Go Marching App introduces basic math and language skills through a new take on the classic song and popular children's rhyme. As the ants go marching and numbers come to life through bright and colorful animations, children can join in by playing various games that teach numbers and early math.
The ABC Song App and 123: Ants Go Marching App are available for $0.99 each from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
