Harlem Globetrotters Return to Hinckley, Illinois, Site of Their First-Ever Road Game
ATLANTA, Jan. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of their 90th year of entertaining families around the world, the iconic Harlem Globetrotters returned to Hinckley, Illinois, today, the anniversary date of the team's first-ever road game in 1927.
As part of the festivities, the Globetrotters erected a new sign to denote the historic site during a special ceremony with the team in Hinckley this afternoon. The sign, standing 10 feet high by 9 feet wide, is located near Hinckley-Big Rock High School on U.S. Highway 30.

The Globetrotters will play for a standing-room-only crowd at Hinckley-Big Rock High School tonight at 7 p.m.
This marks the fourth time the Globetrotters have performed in Hinckley in their illustrious history. The Globetrotters' 1966 tour finished with a game in Hinckley, and the team returned to Hinckley 35 years later in 2001 as part of their 75th anniversary tour. That game was the first-ever live telecast on ESPN Classic.
