NEW YORK, Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Last Thursday's "Happy Intern Happy Hour," an event sponsored by Happy Fuel LLC, was a huge success, attracting over 200 interns working in New York City to the popular Chelsea nightclub SL (Simyone Lounge).
The open-bar event was filled with interns aged 21 and over working in industries like advertising, finance, fashion, and law. They talked and danced with friends, and made new ones, all while downloading and using the : ) fuel (pronounced "happy fuel") iPhone app.
To encourage spreading the word about the : ) fuel app, an iPad mini was awarded to the intern who created the happiest post to Twitter. The winning tweeter was "Janesh R," who won with a series of tweets inspired by celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
"Interns are the future leaders of their generation," said Elizabeth Elfenbein, founder of Happy Fuel. "This party is a chance to get them together to network while they are on the ground floor and spread happiness via the Happy Fuel app."
The "Happy Intern Happy Hour" is the latest event in Happy Fuel LLC's mission to drive and spread happiness. Other happy gatherings are planned for the coming weeks, and an updated, more immersive app and Web app are also in development.
: ) fuel is a mobile place to store, share, and gauge the things that fuel your happy, whether it's a photo, song, spot, video, sound, or thought. The app launched in May of 2013 during Internet Week New York and is available at the Apple App Store.
