HANYC Announces Second Donation To Mayor's Fund To Support Victims Of Hurricane Sandy

NEW YORK, May 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hotel Association of New York City, Inc. today announced that to follow last year's $100,000 contribution to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City, HANYC has sent a check to the Fund for an additional $25,000, the profit from an online auction.

HANYC hoteliers offered vacation packages to bidders on the Bidding For Good online auction site with profits intended to go the Mayor's Fund to support the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The auction profited $25,000, including the top item, a package at the InterContinental Times Square that auctioned for $2,600.

"Hurricane Sandy had devastating effects on New York, and many people are still suffering," said Joseph E. Spinnato, President, Hotel Association of New York City, Inc. "The Hotel Association of New York City is proud to follow its significant contribution to the Mayor's Fund last year, by adding another $25,000 to the Fund."
