Hannah Gelbs Named Chief Operating Officer of Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital

During her tenure at West Houston Medical Center, Gelbs was responsible for operations and executive level leadership of the emergency department, trauma services, radiology services, cardiopulmonary department and breast center.  She was instrumental in increasing efficiencies in the emergency department, including a 42-point increase in patient satisfaction.

"As the largest healthcare provider in the greater Houston area, we strive for the leadership demonstrated by Hannah at all of our hospitals," said Troy Villarreal, HCA Healthcare's Gulf Coast Division president. "We have aggressive plans for Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital in the coming years, including an increased focus on women's services and expanding our trauma capabilities with a Level II trauma designation. Hannah's business and operational expertise will be critical in ensuring we are providing the care needed in northwest Houston."

Gelbs earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and finance from Texas A&M University before going on to receive a master's degree in health care administration from Trinity University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and active in the community through the Junior League of Houston. She was also HCA Healthcare's Gulf Coast Division winner and a national qualifier for the Innovators Award in 2016.
